Dump Trailer Sizes Explained: 10ft, 12ft, 14ft and 16ft

Bed length changes what you can haul, where you can park and how much you spend. Here is how the common sizes compare.

10ft and 12ft Compact Models

These suit landscapers, roofers and homeowners. They fit a standard driveway and tow behind a half-ton truck.

Expect roughly three to five cubic yards of usable volume depending on side height.

The 14ft Workhorse

The 14ft tandem axle model is the most popular size we sell. It balances capacity with easy towing.

Contractors use it for gravel, demolition debris and equipment transport with ramps.

16ft and Larger

Longer beds carry bulky low-density loads like brush and packaging waste.

Match the length to a gooseneck hitch once the load exceeds 16,000 lb.

Side Height Matters as Much as Length

Two-foot sides suit dense material. Four-foot sides suit light, bulky material.

Add side extensions later rather than buying a bed you cannot fill safely.
